Race Day Registration will be available. However, if you want to be guaranteed a shirt you will need to pre-register. (Racers who register on race day may not receive a t-shirt, but are guaranteed a finisher medal)
The 2014 Mudman Duluth course will be held at the Spirit Mountain Ski Area. This will absolutely be the Midwest's premiere destination mud run obstacle course event!
The 5K course will consist of roughly 15 obstacles that will test your strength, endurance and mental fortitude. If 5K of torture isn't tough enough for you take on the 10K challenge featuring additional obstacles and grueling terrain. With the rugged hills at Spirit Mountain, you are assured to be pushed to your breaking point and beyond both physically and mentally. You will never look at the hills at Spirit Mountain the same again! Here we will offer you a glimpse of what awaits you as you attempt the challenge that is MUDMAN!!
Here is a list of the obstacles for 2014!
1. Hay This is Fun! (runners will climb over stacks of large round hay bales) 2. Mud Belly (Belly Crawl under barbed wire 18” off the ground) 3. Web of Lies (a spider web of ropes to climb through in the woods) 4. Trenches (mud tunnels covered with plywood and more dirt) 5. Grease Monkey (Monkey bars over a mud pool) 6. B4 U Walk (Belly Crawl under barbed wire 18” off the ground) 7. Cargo Climb (12’ high cargo net bridge over the mountain bike trail) 8. Cliff Hanging (climb up and over 3 walls. Don’t look down!) 9. Cargo Climb (12’ high cargo net a frame) 10. Trip Wire (rope 18” off the ground the runners have to high step over) 11. Shrinkage (Ice, water, and gasping!) 12. Hell’s Bells (12- 55 gallon drums hung from trees & swinging only inches apart) 13. Hurricane Hill (Goodbye contacts! High powered snow making machine!) 14. Mud Slide (60’ inflatable water slide with a huge mud pit at the bottom) 15. Stop-Drop- & Roll (leap over trenches of fire)
PARKING $10 All racers should park in the upper Spirit Mountain parking areas. There will be parking attendants on hand to help direct you to the proper parking locations. There will be an optional shuttle available to the trail where you will have about a 10-15 minute warm up walk to the start/finish area.
To Mudman From Twin Cities: Take I-35 North to Exit #249 (just 5 minutes south of downtown Duluth). Take a right at the top of the off-ramp and follow the frontage road around past McDonalds, the gas station, and the hotel. From there you’ll see the signs to follow to our parking lots.
To Mudman From Iron Range: Take Hwy 53 South to Midway Rd. Take a Right on Midway Road. Go about 5 miles and then take a Left on Hwy 2. Take a slight Right onto Boundary Avenue. Follow Boundary Avenue around until you take a Right on Skyline Parkway. Follow this around to Spirit Mountain’s signs.
To Mudman From North Shore: Take Hwy 61 South into Duluth, which becomes London Road. At 21st Avenue East, turn Left onto I-35 South. Follow I-35 to Exit #249 (just 5 minutes south of downtown Duluth). Take a left at the top of the off-ramp and follow the frontage road around past McDonalds, the gas station, and the hotel. From there you’ll see the signs to follow to our parking lots.
